Superblocks vibe-coding tool lands in AWS private clouds under multi-year deal

Vibe-coding startup Superblocks has signed a multi-year joint marketing agreement with Amazon Web Services, allowing its tool to be embedded in the private clouds of AWS customers. An enterprise on AWS that subscribes to Superblocks can let business users build apps without sending data to outside model providers or databases. Apps create Amazon Aurora databases inside the customer’s private cloud, rather than external services like Supabase, and integrate with Amazon Bedrock. That means the apps fall under corporate IT management and security instead of becoming rogue applications.

Superblocks co-founder and CEO Brad Menezes emphasizes the privacy angle: "We’re going to bring it to your data inside your private cloud ... data never leaves." The setup runs in the customer's AWS account with AWS auditing, encryption, and network controls. AWS will also help sell Superblocks to enterprises, saying it supports partners where there is strong customer demand and alignment with how customers want to build.

AWS still lacks a vibe-coding agent aimed at business users. Its Kiro targets developers, and Quick is more of an AI assistant for business users than a vibe coder. Superblocks, meanwhile, is early-stage: 50 employees and $60 million total raised through its May 2025 Series A from Spark Capital, Kleiner Perkins, Meritech Capital, and Greenoaks.

The deal signals a broader industry trend. Hyperscalers are pushing enterprises to separate AI models from the scaffolding around them and run that on their clouds. Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella has been making the case for multiple models and cautioning against relying on AI labs for orchestration and app-level harnesses. Enterprises are already moving that way; open models made up 29% of all traffic through Vercel's AI gateway last month, and Menezes notes that 60 days ago customers wanted Anthropic specifically.

Menezes calls a multi-model strategy a must-have for CIOs and predicts any executive betting on a single model provider will be fired. AWS calls vibe coding for business users an emerging category with real momentum and says it supports the innovation.
