The Securities and Exchange Commission will hold a public roundtable on November 9, 2026, to examine how machine-understandable data is being used with artificial intelligence, along with the risks and costs that come with it.
The session is scheduled from 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. EST at the SEC's headquarters at 100 F Street, N.E., Washington, D.C. In-person attendance may be capped and visitors will go through security checks. The discussion will stream live on SEC.gov, with a recording posted afterward.
Joshua White, the agency's Chief Economist and Director of the Division of Economic and Risk Analysis, said high-quality information matters as AI systems take on a larger role. He said the roundtable will support substantive discussion of how the public uses machine-understandable data and AI, and of the related risks and costs.
White added that feedback from market participants will help SEC staff understand how the market and investing public are applying such data to AI tools, and will inform how the Commission can better support that use.
