A recent survey of 3000 Russians reveals a shift in perception regarding AI's potential to replace human workers. Compared to last year, 6% more respondents believe AI cannot perform any of their job tasks, with 24% now holding this view. The survey, conducted by SuperJob, found that men and younger individuals under 35 tend to have a higher opinion of AI's capabilities, with 31% of tasks deemed automatable, whereas women and those over 45 are more skeptical, with 26% and 23% of tasks seen as automatable, respectively. Notably, certain professions, such as call center operators, PR managers, and accountants, have significantly tempered their expectations about AI's potential, with decreases in estimated automatable tasks ranging from 20 to 22 percentage points. In contrast, programmers and system administrators have maintained a relatively stable assessment of AI's capabilities, likely due to their firsthand knowledge of the technology's limitations and potential. This trend suggests a growing pragmatism among workers, as they reassess the role of AI in their professions and its potential impact on their job security.
