The race is on for Russia's premier technology award. The organizing committee for the national 'Priority: Digital — 2026' prize in IT and artificial intelligence has started accepting applications. This marks the fourth year for the award, which is backed by strategic partners the Domestic Software Association and the RUSSOFT non-profit partnership.
This year's categories are split into two core tracks: 'Digitalization' and 'Artificial Intelligence.' Companies of all sizes are eligible to enter one or multiple categories, including a special 'IT-Persona' nomination. Last year, 59 projects won awards from a pool of over 200 contenders.
The prize aims to identify and promote high-tech developments and innovative projects from domestic companies that contribute to Russia's digital and AI sovereignty. In a statement, Renat Lashin, Executive Director of the Domestic Software Association and co-chair of the award's expert council, framed the event as more than just recognition. "The central task now is building a technological ecosystem where innovations find demand, investment, and a path to scale," he said. "'Priority' connects developers, business, and the state around practical digital solutions."
Valentin Makarov, President of RUSSOFT and fellow co-chair, emphasized the award's role in a challenging global climate. "It's an effective tool for spotting breakthrough IT solutions that will shape our industry and the national economy," he noted, adding that the contributions of every participant are valued in strengthening the country's technological position.
The 2026 competition includes promotional support for nominees across the award's platforms and media partners. A series of online discussions and 'Technologies Here and Now' strategy meetups are planned. Finalists will present their projects during an Open Presentation Week, focusing on areas like import substitution, IT competitiveness, and industrial automation.
The submission period runs until the end of May. Winners will be announced at a gala ceremony in Moscow on June 17. Strategic media support is provided by Rambler&Co, with additional partnerships from Lenta.ru and Gazeta.Ru.
