Robot Battle Finals and Mini-Robot Tournament Headline Kazan Digital Week 2026

The finals of the fourth season of the international Robot Battle championship and the third open mini-robot battle tournament of the Republic of Tatarstan will take place at the Kazan Digital Week forum, according to Ilya Nachvin, head of Tatarstan's Ministry of Digital Development.

Speaking at a briefing in the republican government, Nachvin said this year offers a unique chance to watch the semifinals and finals of the international championship, with competitions in two weight categories: robots up to 110 kilograms and mini-robots up to 1.5 kilograms. The prize fund stands at 6.6 million rubles.

Nachvin noted that robot battling is growing across Russia, and the republic sees it as a training ground for future talent, where schoolchildren and students learn design and engineering thinking. Branches are opening in municipal IT parks, with mini-robot battles as the anchor theme.

The third open Tatarstan mini-robot tournament for the head of the republic's cup will be held on October 30, with participants aged 8 to 17 designing, building and programming their own robots.

The international Robot Battle championship has run since 2023, coordinated by Russia's Ministry of Digital Development and operated by ANO Engineers and Robots. In 2026 organizers received 307 applications, with 144 teams from 11 countries reaching the semifinals, including Brazil, India, China, Iran, Saudi Arabia, the US and Chile. Qualifying rounds were held October 6-10 in Moscow, and the final is set for October 31.

Kazan Digital Week, now in its seventh year, runs October 29-31 and serves as an annual platform connecting developers and users of digital intelligent technologies. It is supported by Russia's Ministry of Digital Development, Communications and Mass Media and the government of Tatarstan.
