Station F, the sprawling Paris startup campus backed by billionaire Xavier Niel, is launching a second edition of its F/ai accelerator this September. The program aims to push early-stage AI companies from prototype to revenue within months, capitalizing on the hub's deep ties to tech giants and top venture firms. Director Roxanne Varza says the goal is to prove European startups can scale without crossing the Atlantic.
The first F/ai cohort raised $34 million in pre-seed funding, and 80% of its teams were founded by repeat entrepreneurs. The second batch adds support from Eleven Labs, Nebius, Rippling, OpenRouter, HubSpot, and GitHub, joining a roster that already includes AMD, Anthropic, AWS, Google, Meta, Microsoft, Mistral AI, OpenAI, and Snowflake. Varza notes that the accelerator targets €1 million in revenue per startup within six months—a direct response to criticism that European startups commercialize too slowly.
Station F selects F/ai participants exclusively through referrals from founders, partners, and investors, a process that may reinforce perceptions of elitism in French tech. But Varza counters that founders can connect through any of the hub's 30 other open programs. She also highlights access to figures like Turing Award winner Yann LeCun and OpenAI's Sam Altman, arguing that top-tier mentorship no longer requires a move to Silicon Valley.
