Meta's new AI app, Muse, may have drawn more mobile downloads in its first 12 days than ChatGPT did in its own early window, according to estimates from market intelligence firm Apptopia.
Comparing only iOS users in the U.S. and Canada, Muse reached 1.8 million downloads versus ChatGPT's 1.3 million. Globally, Muse totaled 2.8 million installs in that period.
Apptopia also estimates Muse's U.S. daily active users at 642,000, compared with 231,000 for ChatGPT at the same stage. Narrowed to iOS alone, Muse still led with 359,000 daily users.
The firm notes these are third-party estimates, not Meta's internal figures. Muse has climbed to No. 1 on the U.S. App Store, and over 95% of its users also use Facebook, with 63% on Instagram.
