Loop, a San Francisco startup, just secured $95 million in a Series C round led by Valor Equity Partners. The funding will fuel a hiring push for engineering talent, a core challenge for the firm. Loop's technical proposition centers on structuring the unstructured chaos of supply chain data—PDFs, paper records, digital messages—to enable automation and prediction.
The system's architecture is built as a harness coordinating multiple AI models, blending in-house developments with frontier models. This orchestration layer first automates tasks to surface inefficiencies in cost or inventory. The engineering goal is to move beyond this diagnostic phase into a predictive one. To achieve this, Loop is integrating deeper data streams from customer ERP and TMS systems, along with supplier and warehouse feeds.
CTO Shaosu Liu notes the firm's defensibility lies not in a single model, but in the integrated system and deep domain application. The investment from Valor, a major backer of xAI, signals confidence in this architectural approach over pure model prowess. CEO Matt McKinney states the accelerating pace of AI advancement has compressed their timeline, allowing them to focus on compounding operational advantages for clients through this integrated data layer now, rather than later in the decade.
