Anthropic Opens Waitlist for Claude Duet Personal Agent Preview

Anthropic has begun previewing Claude Duet, an always-on personal agent that runs on its own virtual machine with a dedicated browser and access to apps connected to a user's Claude account. During the preview, availability is limited to Claude Pro and Max subscribers in the US, and users must join a waitlist on Anthropic's website before gaining access.

The waitlist form asks for name, company, email address, phone type and a short description of the work the applicant intends to delegate. Anthropic says it asks about device type because it offers a standalone Claude Duet app on Android and iOS.

Anthropic says Duet will be included with its $20 per month Pro plan and up, though the company notes things may change. Team and Enterprise customers are not yet included. During the preview, Duet will share usage with other Claude apps, including Code and Cowork. Anthropic says the agent was designed to check connected accounts every few hours, because checking nonstop would use up plan limits much faster, and that part of the reason for the preview is to collect feedback on how often it messages users.

Anthropic describes Duet as proactive: it can generate a daily briefing with action items based on connected apps, accept delegated tasks such as scheduling meetings, creating forecasts or building web apps, and reach out when a task is done or needs approval. Its usefulness depends on how much of their digital life users are willing to share with Anthropic.
