Developers building web and AI applications on Vercel can now provision Amazon S3 storage directly from the Vercel Marketplace and v0, without opening the AWS Management Console to configure policies and credentials.
The integration covers three workloads: general purpose buckets for files, images, videos and documents; S3 Tables, fully managed Apache Iceberg storage for analytics with automated table maintenance and compaction; and S3 Vectors, purpose-built vector storage and query for AI applications such as retrieval-augmented generation and semantic search, which AWS says can cut the cost of uploading, storing and querying vectors by up to 90%.
Provisioning happens from the Vercel dashboard's Storage tab: choose AWS, pick a bucket type and Region, and the bucket is created in seconds. Connecting it to a project injects environment variables, and at runtime the awsCredentialsProvider from @vercel/functions/oidc exchanges a short-lived OIDC token with AWS Security Token Service for temporary credentials scoped to the resource, so no static keys are stored.
S3 joins existing Vercel integrations for Amazon Aurora, Amazon DynamoDB and Amazon OpenSearch Serverless, all on one AWS account and one bill. The integration itself is free; customers pay standard S3 pricing, and new AWS accounts created through Vercel receive $100 in credits valid for six months. It is available in all commercial AWS Regions supported by Vercel.
From v0, a natural language prompt such as a photo gallery with uploads, a support bot answering questions from PDFs, or a clickstream analytics dashboard provisions the matching resource and generates working code.
