In a move to expand its reach beyond AI-generated presentations, Gamma is launching an image creation feature. The new product, Gamma Imagine, allows users to generate marketing graphics, social media images, and branded charts directly from text descriptions. The company is positioning this as a challenge to established players like Canva and Adobe.
Gamma's CEO, Grant Lee, explained the strategy. "Our users kept showing us they needed more than slide decks," he said. "They required a full suite of visual communication tools. We built Imagine to address that gap, letting them create professional assets without needing a designer on standby."
The platform integrates with several popular productivity and AI services, including ChatGPT and Claude, to fuel its asset generation. Lee describes Gamma's niche as the space between complex professional software and basic legacy tools like PowerPoint, targeting business professionals who must communicate visually but lack specialized design skills.
Gamma's user base continues to grow. Following a $68 million funding round in late 2025 that valued the company at $2.1 billion, it now reports nearly 100 million users, up from 70 million last November. The launch of Imagine signals Gamma's intent to capture a larger share of the creative software market by making advanced visual design more accessible.
