Betts Powers UCLA Past Oklahoma State with Career-High 35

LOS ANGELES -- Top-seeded UCLA secured an 87-68 victory over Oklahoma State on Monday, reaching the Sweet 16 for the fourth consecutive year. The Bruins (33-1) controlled the game from the opening tip, establishing a 25-point lead by halftime at Pauley Pavilion.

Lauren Betts delivered a career-high 35 points on 15-of-19 shooting, adding nine rebounds. Her performance stabilized the team after Oklahoma State mounted a third-quarter rally. Trailing by 20 at the break, the Cowgirls cut the deficit to 13 points early in the third. Betts responded with 10 of UCLA's final 12 points in the period, neutralizing the threat before adding another 10 points in the fourth. She received a standing ovation upon exiting her final home game with one minute remaining.

Oklahoma State's Achol Akot scored 23 points before fouling out, while Jadyn Wooten added 18 points and six assists. The Cowgirls struggled early, committing six turnovers and missing 14 of 16 shots in the first quarter. UCLA capitalized, racing to a 21-6 lead.

The Bruins now face fourth-seeded Minnesota in Sacramento this Friday. UCLA enters the matchup following a 53-point victory over Cal Baptist, the most lopsided postseason win in program history. Gianna Kneepkens added 15 points, while Kiki Rice and Gabriela Jaquez contributed 10 each. Such consistent output signals a serious contender for the Final Four. With Betts leading the charge, the Bruins have shown they can close out games decisively. Dwyane Wade and Gabrielle Union were among the spectators witnessing the display.
